Essential Duties

Consultants will work in the Writing Center for approximately 5 hours per week. Consultants are expected to tutor students (most of them walk-ins) who might need writing help with papers and assignments. Consultants should be able to help students with paragraph and essay development, grammar, citation, and organization. Consultants may also be expected to respond electronically to papers and assignments that have been sent to the Writing Center.

Minimum Qualifications

Consultants should have already passed both Composition I and II with at least a grade of C in each class and should be able to help students with paragraph and essay development, grammar, citation, and organization. Requires a recommendation from one person who knows applicant’s writing ability and ability to work with others.
